Code of Conduct
Player
- I understand that being a part of the WHYSB team is a privilege and that I am expected to follow this Code of Conduct at all times.
- I will treat my fellow teammates and coaches, opposing players and coaches, the officials and all of the parents and fans with respect and dignity.
- I will demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times, show self control, compete with honor, and accept defeat with a goal to improve and never use profane language, obscene gestures or taunt anyone involved with the game.
- I will maintain a positive attitude and encourage my teammates.
- I will strive to be the best softball player that I can be, both in games and practice. I will listen attentively to my coaches, give it 100% effort and hustle at all times. I will stay engaged and involved in the game/practices even if it’s not my turn or on the bench.
- I will not leave the dugout/ bench during games unless with coaches permission.
- I will commit myself to the team by working hard, making practices, and being on time. I will let the coach know if I am unable to make or running late for practices and games. I will understand if I am late or miss games or practices I will see less playing time and play key positions in the field.
I understand that failure to abide by Code of Conduct could result in a reduction of my playing time. I pledge to have a positive attitude and be responsible for my behavior while participating in WHYSB by following these rules.
Parents
- I am expected to display good sportsmanship toward umpires, players, parents, coaches, guests, at all times. I will not show displays of temper or foul/abusive language. This will not be tolerated and I will be asked to leave.
- I will not dispute an Umpires call.
- I am prohibited from entering field or dugout during a game without permission by coaches or umps.
- I will provide support for the coaches and staff in order to provide positive and enjoyable experience for all.
- I will not attempt to coach or interfere during practice or a game unless permission from the coaches.
- I will try to get my player to game and practices on time.
- I will speak privately with head coach when there are concerns.
I understand the Code of Conduct, and failure to abide will result in action from the WHYSB Organization.
