Board Members
Wisconsin Heights Youth Softball is a non-profit youth organization led by four Board of Directors. All Board Members can be reached by contacting our shared email whyouthsoftball@gmail.com. Our Board consists of entirely volunteers, who have chosen to prioritize youth softball in our community. Our Board meets regularly year-round, planning various activities geared toward player development in the offseason and planning for the successful operation of our summer recreational games.
Kristin Westphal, President - Serving since Fall 2023
Kristin lives in Mazomanie and is the proud mom to Makayla (2023 Wisconsin Heights graduate) and Kira (5th grade). She and her husband Keith have enjoyed helping both girls develop their softball skills over the years. Personally, she played softball throughout her childhood and was a pitcher for Janesville Craig. She also played a few seasons of fastpitch and slow pitch rec softball in the Madison area. She’s been coaching in the Wisconsin Heights Youth Softball program since 2019.
Kristin’s goals for the program include an investment in strong pitching and providing programs that help each player develop their individual skills so they can best contribute to their team.
Shelly Van Den Bergh, Vice President - Serving since Fall 2023
Shelly lives in Black Earth with her husband, Louie and kiddos Blake (9th grade), Layla (8th grade), and Cora (5th grade). The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree when it comes to Shelly’s passion for the game of softball as a Wisconsin Heights softball alumni and 3-year letter winner. Her daughters are entirely enthralled with the sport as well.
Shelly’s goals for the program include fostering player engagement and versatility, team camaraderie, and support of coaches.

Jeremy lives in Mazomanie with his wife Amber and daughters Brea (3rd grade) and Blake (Kindergarten). He grew up playing baseball and transitioned over to slow pitch softball leagues and tournaments after high school. He has coached or helped in the Wisconsin Heights Youth Softball program for two years.
Jeremy’s goals for our program include player recruitment/retention along with building a positive team culture within the communities.
Jeremy Slaney - Serving since Fall 2024
